The last traditional Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was aired in 2018 on television, and had attracted controversy due to a #metoomovement and the brand’s proclivity towards body image positivity eversince. The viewership reportedly dwindled from 9 million in 2014 to 3 million in 2018.

The Ohio-based lingerie brand however shifted gears last year, releasing Victoria’s Secret: The Tour ‘23 as a documentary on OTT platforms.

They first announced the show’s return in May, promising a re-imagined experience. Being an angel on the show is considered a ticket to being labelled as celebrity. Naomi Campbell, Adrianna Lima, Heidi Klum, Cyndi Crawford, Miranda Kerr are among a few who have been Victoria’s Secret angel models.
In 2019 the brand’s fashion show got cancelled due to Jeffery Epstein, a finance professional’s suicide who was convicted of sexual abuse to minors. Epstein had launched a music and pop culture magazine Radar, prior to making a bid to acquire the New York magazine.
The only publicly known billionaire client of Epstein was Leslie Wexner, chairman and CEO of L Brands (formerly The Limited, Inc.) and Victoria’s Secret.
The lingerie brand had recently opened their 10th store in India in Kochi’s Lulu mall.
